It is a Seller’s Market… But Not for Everyone (Part 2 of 2)

What Buyers Really Want

The homes that are so highly coveted are newer or completely updated with open, light-filled floor plans and white walls, huge windows, and fine appliances and finishes. Those homes are sold in their first 10 days on the market. Then word gets out and everyone assumes they can do the same.

HGTV has forever changed home buying. Buyers want their own reveal! They expect to open the front door and oooo and ahhhhh. If that is not their response, they move on to the next house.

Things That Make Your House Look Dated

HGTV recently published a list called 17 Things That Make Your House Look Dated.

Don’t Take it Personally

If as a seller you don’t get the oooo and ahhhh, don’t take it personally! It takes a little courage and a sometimes a lot of work, but Gail and Claire can advise you as to the best use of your money to get the most return. They even partner with investors who can handle a small update and will wait for closing for their payment. They can also walk with you through the process, helping out in various ways.

Sellers can learn more from this section on the McCown Group Website, and for helpful information for buyers, please check out their section just for buyers.

Contact Gail and Claire today for an assessment of your property. They can view your home objectively. They are highly skilled at understanding exactly what buyers want, and can help detail the steps (if any) you will need to take to get your home sold to a buyer for market value.
